Question 1

How do I build a team?

Accepted Answer

Sign up, then go to Pick team. Choose 11 golfers in a 2 Birdie Hunters / 4 Fairway Finders / 4 Scramblers / 1 Outsider formation within the budget (usually £100m), plus 4 bench reserves — one for each position.

Question 2

How does the captain work?

Accepted Answer

Choose your captain from the Captain box at the top of Pick team. Your captain scores double points in every round.

Question 3

What is a back-up captain?

Accepted Answer

An optional pick in the Emergency bench box. If your captain withdraws before teeing off, your back-up captain scores double instead.

Question 4

Can the app pick a team for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Press Auto-pick on Pick team for a random team that fits the budget, then change anything you like. Nothing is kept until you press Save team.

Question 5

How can I find out more about a golfer?

Accepted Answer

Tap the gold "i" next to any golfer in the player list to see their recent results and their finishes in the Majors over the last five years.

Question 6

What do Birdie Hunters, Fairway Finders, Scramblers and The Outsider mean?

Accepted Answer

They're the four positions. Each one scores in a different way — tap the gold "i" beside each heading on Pick team for a quick explanation.

Question 7

When do teams lock?

Accepted Answer

Teams lock at the deadline set for each tournament, normally before the first tee time on Thursday. After that no changes can be made until the next event.

Question 8

Why might prices, players or positions change?

Accepted Answer

Early in the week the field isn't final. Until the field-confirmed date shown on Pick team, prices, players and positions may be updated — come back after that date to check your team still fits.

Question 9

Can other people see my team?

Accepted Answer

Not before the deadline. Picks are hidden from everyone else until teams lock.

Question 10

How are points scored?

Accepted Answer

Points come from birdies, eagles, bogeys, round scores, leading after a round and final finishing position. Each position scores differently — the Rules page and the gold "i" on Pick team explain how.

Question 11

Where do live scores come from?

Accepted Answer

Scores come from the official tournament leaderboard and update about every minute during live play.

Question 12

What happens if a player misses the cut?

Accepted Answer

They score nothing in Rounds 3 and 4, and may lose points for missing the cut depending on their position.

Question 13

What if a player withdraws before teeing off?

Accepted Answer

Your same-position reserve comes in automatically, as long as they cost no more than the withdrawn player plus your leftover budget. If the withdrawn player was captain, your back-up captain takes the armband (or the reserve, if you haven't picked a back-up). Otherwise that slot scores 0.

Question 14

What is the MFG League?

Accepted Answer

Every new team is entered into the MFG League automatically. You can leave it at any time from the Leagues page.

Question 15

What is Team of the Day?

Accepted Answer

After each round, the top scorer in every position makes the Team of the Day, and the best over the whole tournament make the Team of the Week. Their golfers get a gold shield on team pages.

Question 16

Where can I follow the tournament live?

Accepted Answer

Your home page shows a live leaderboard with real scores, and the Live Scoreboard in the Menu has the full field. Between events it shows the last tournament's final results.

Question 17

How do I join or create a private league?

Accepted Answer

Go to Leagues. Create a league to get a join code to share, or enter a code someone has given you. Private leagues are only visible to their members.

Question 18

What is the MFG Season Cup?

Accepted Answer

A season-long race, like the FedExCup. Each week your league finishing position earns Cup points, so one huge week can't decide the whole year. It runs in the MFG League and every private league.

Question 19

Which events count towards my Cup total?

Accepted Answer

The 4 Majors always count, and are worth about 1.5× a normal week. On top of that, your best 8 other tournaments count. Every other week is ignored.

Question 20

Do I have to play every week to stay in the race?

Accepted Answer

No. Only your best 8 regular events count, so missing a few weeks is fine. But missing a Major scores 0 for that Major, so make sure you're entered for all four.

Question 21

What are the four season honours?

Accepted Answer

MFG Cup Champion (highest Cup total at the end of the season), Slam King (most Major points, decided after The Open), Cut King (best rate of starters making the cut) and the Wooden Spoon (lowest total among teams that played at least 8 events).

Question 22

How are ties broken?

Accepted Answer

Weekly ties are split by most birdies, then most eagles, then fewest bogeys across your 11 starters. If two teams finish the season level on Cup points, the one with more Major points ranks higher.

Question 23

How do Head to Head challenges work?

Accepted Answer

Open Head to Head from the Menu and challenge a friend's team for the week. Once they accept, your side totals update live from the leaderboard and the result is frozen when the tournament finishes.

Question 24

What's the difference between Player Stats & Rankings and the Form Guide?

Accepted Answer

The Form Guide covers this week's field and recent results to help you pick. Player Stats & Rankings is a reference for the top players in the world — world rankings, FedExCup standings and strokes gained — whether or not they're playing this week.

Question 25

What are Model insights on Pick team?

Accepted Answer

Optional, folded-away extras showing each golfer's predicted chances (such as making the cut or finishing top 20). They're only a guide — they never affect your points, which come from the official leaderboard.

Question 26

Can I see prices in dollars?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Go to your Profile and switch the currency between £ and $. It only changes how prices are shown, not the budget.

Question 27

What data do you keep about me?

Accepted Answer

Your email, display name and your teams, along with account and preference records. See our Privacy Notice for details.

Question 28

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Go to your Profile and use Delete my account. You'll be asked to type DELETE to confirm. Your team's past results stay in league history without your name.

Question 29

How do I change my password or email?

Accepted Answer

Go to your Profile and press Change password or Change email. You'll be asked for your current password first. A new email only takes effect once you click the link we send to it.

Question 30

I've forgotten my password.

Accepted Answer

On the sign in page, type your email and tap Forgot password? — we'll email you a link to set a new one.

Question 31

I didn't get my confirmation email.

Accepted Answer

Check your spam folder. Work email systems sometimes hold our emails back, so try signing up with Google instead or email support@majorfantasygolf.com.
